You have to be a Lover

Love, A 40 Day Biblical Approach to Love

1 John 5:7

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and love his commands.

Looking for Christian believers? Look for the lovers. Christians are the ones who are hugging, kissing, and crying together. Christians are the “extra mile people”. They go out of their way to help or care for one another. Christians move out of that comfort zone of neutrality and non-involvement.

Now it almost sounds like Christians are robot, drones doing the commandments of God. But that is far from the truth. Doing this God thing, following His rules and commands is all about peace and contentment. The commandments of God are there for our protection and safety. Within the safety of those rules we can live without fear and in true love with one another. It is in this place of God’s commandments, that love can be nurtured and grow.

Outside of God’s commands is where the real trouble is. You really don’t see too much hugging, kissing, and real joy outside of God’s love. You really don’t.

  1. OK so you’re not a huggy, kissy kind of person. Get over it. Start small shake hands. But get in close to people.
  2. Sorry but you can’t do it alone. You have to surround yourself with people that care and understand you.
  3. Make the first steps by getting in touch with Christian brothers and sisters.
