Relationship Advice:Love is Always Owed

Excerpt from my book

Love, A 40 Day Biblical Approach to Love

Romans 13:8

Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another…

We owe our love to one another. Our bills need to be taken care of, our taxes paid and the borrowed tools returned, but our love is always owed (due).

We can never stop loving. We can never love less. Despite what happens in the world, what news comes to our front door, we cannot stop loving one another. We have as our role models, centuries of Christian lovers. These Christian brothers and sisters suffered and even died yet continued in their love for God and mankind. The old worship song states a truth, “They shall know we are Christians by our love”.

  1. What is getting in your way of loving, the world, and your family yourself?
  2. What can be done to get on a path of making things right?
  3. What can you do to be a better lover?
  4. Can you love even when that love is not returned? Why? Why not?
  5. What needs to change?
