These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority.
There is a point where you have to say something, where you have to step in and make a stand. When that time comes you have to put your feet solidly on the ground and speak with and from authority. But understand this, the authority that you have is not your own but God’s. You will speak for God. That’s a tall order, so you need to be sure of the knowledge you have of God. That means you are constantly seeking God and his words in scripture. Make sure you are always in contact with God through and in prayer.
If you step out in authority you have got to make sure you know that you what you are talking about. You need to be able to backup what you are saying. You don’t have to be a Bible expert but you have to know your stuff. You’re speaking with authority, so be an authority. Too many times we leave it up to the pastors and the teachers to know the Bible. If you are a Christian and you love God, you need to get to know him by learning about him in his Word.
If you know God, then you can speak for him and even with authority.
