Let’s get this straight from the start. The Son of God’s real name was Jesus, which is the Greek translation of Jeshua or Joshua.
The word Christ or Christos is another Greek word for Messiah, which means, “the anointed one”.
When Jesus was walking the streets during His three year ministry nobody called him the Messiah. When we refer to Jesus now, it would be more appropriate to say Jesus the Christ. Because, that is who He is, the Messiah, the Christ.
We somehow don’t take into account the enormity of the title the Christ, when we use it as Jesus’s last name.
It sounds like just saying John Smith. Jesus was not and is not a John Smith. Jesus was and is the “anointed one”, the Messiah Savior of the world. There is no other.
